It is simple. Get the most cats. When a lot of cats come by, you want those cats so you bid your highest card. But wait, aren't the other people going to bid their highest card too? If you bid your lowest card and let everyone else fight over the cats, you will have the advantage on the next bids until you spend your highest card. But everyone knows that and they may bid low also. Perhaps you should play a mid card and beat their low cards? Or just put out a Porchlight and wait to see what they bid? Ah heck, just make it rain!
